We all know that events, parties, and weddings can get rather spendy! So why not do it yourself!? There are literally so many ways to have beauty on a budget! The most alluring configurations can be done in just a few simple steps!
Seen above is a very simple yet artistic napkin treatment! You can do the same in just a few easy steps!!! First: Take a napkin of your choice and fold it so there is a spot for your menu card! Second: Hand print your menu on plain or fun paper ( it looks great, its easy, and will help you stick to your budget!) Third: A spider mum was placed on the napkin, but feel free to use any flower of your choice! Last: A hand painted butterfly was set on the flower.
Remember to have fun with it! Use your imagination and watch your possibilities become infinite!

Concan, Texas is at the heart of Garner State Park in Southern Texas and the perfect setting for a good 'ole country chic wedding! To create this memorable evening, we started with the backdrop for the evening, The Concan Country Club, which allowed for the ceremony and reception locations. The wedding was coordinated by Tina Humphrey of Diamonds and Dreams, while Gene and Tony from Ambiance Floral created a rustic setting with the flowers. Cover That Up! and Brigman Enterprises provided all the linen, draping, and lighting for the event. Congratulations to the bride and groom and enjoy looking at all the pics below! This past weekend we did a small but wonderfully creative wedding! The bride and groom had their hearts set on a wedding at the beach, but unfortunately one of the couple's mothers is not able to travel. So, the couple decided to bring the beach to San Antonio! Since the couple was on a budget, they decided to have an early Saturday morning wedding with a Reception Brunch. This decision saved the couple a ton of money and also allowed them to have a more relaxed, fun reception. As a result, they didn't need the use of chair covers, but rather chose a beautiful Aqua/Gold Crushed Bichon that was accented with the most creative centerpieces from Alamo Plants and Petals. Such a great Wedding!

As we are all being affected by the harsh economic times, budget's are becoming increasingly important. It is every girl's fantasy to have the wedding of their dreams and sadly most will begin their planning journey with the mindset that their dream wedding cannot be attained. One of the first steps in the wedding process is to secure a location, which usually takes up a large portion of the budget. When deciding on a venue, always take into consideration if the venue provides tables, chairs, security, etc. Anything that a venue provides will cut down on your outside rental costs, these additional costs should be a determining factor in your choice of a venue. A good friend of mine requested my help in the entire planning process for her wedding and she was on a strict budget. We had several obstacles in deciding on a location - it had to be centrally located, have enough room for 350 guests and be reasonably priced. After looking at several locations we decided to go with New Braunfels Civic Center, which fit all of her needs and included tables and chairs in the rental. Don't be discouraged by your initial reaction to ambiance of a location, it can always be transformed! Below is our initial look of the Civic Center:
The tables that the venue offered were standard 6ft. rectangle tables, which remind me of your school cafeteria room! So in an effort to cut the costs on the amount of tables and give the room a different, non-cafeteria feel, we decided to use two 6ft. tables together to for one large 6ft. by 6ft. square table. These larger tables were capable of seating 12 guests per table, which meant that we could have (30) 6ft.x6ft. tables instead of (44) 6ft. tables, a huge savings on the linens. This was an October wedding, so the color palette was rich chocolates and ivory's with the accent color of burgundy. Instead of using fresh floral, we opted to use natural items like curly willow, fall leaves, and hypercium berries, plus we added some silk's that my friend had purchased throughout the year on clearance. I had some burgundy colored luminaria candles that made the perfect centerpiece holder - so we had our touch of burgundy without having to spend a ton of money on floral. We covered the 6ft. x 6ft. tables with an ivory poly linen and then topped it with a warm mocha pintuck overlay. We added a fitted ivory chair cover and an ivory napkin that we tied with a soft gold organza ribbon. Since the reception was a buffet, I always suggest to preset the napkins at every guests seat, this give the tables a more complete look. With the added savings from the linens and the centerpieces, we were able to have enough money to drape the walls in an ivory organza and add some soft amber up lights - this made all the difference in the world! It is amazing to see the after photo:
What a Transformation and all within the Budget!

We are so excited to be launching our new Blog and website! We will keep you updated on all of our event techniques and new products that we utilize to create one of a kind events. Let's get started with...."A Walk on The Wild Side"! One of our favorite clients, The Henry Family, owners of Schlitterbahn Water Parks, asked us to create a party around their new ride "The Congo". Every guest received a black and white zebra print invite with vibrant orange accents inviting them to "Walk on the Wild Side". The annual party was hosted in the beautiful backyard of the Henry home and it was our task to create the "Wild Side" feel. Under the covered patio, we utilized everything from a life size Zebra and African Tribesman to Giant Warrior Shields and Stone Torches to create the "Wild Side" atmosphere. Ottomans covered with White Minx Fur and Zebra pillows were placed around this display for guests to lounge on.
Surrounging the pool area, we created guest seating with ottomans covered in vibrant orange taffeta and topped with brown/black zebra fur. Vibrant orange shag rugs and funky swirl tables brought the area together, while palm fronds covered arbors were used to create an entrance and an exit to the area. Stone torches with silk flames were also utilized on the parameter of the pool.
No event is a Party, without an ice sculpture, right?? Well, we took it to a whole new level. We created a "Ice Igloo" for guests to walk in, take a seat, and then lean back and take a shot! A small window was created to order the shot from the bartender, whom was standing behind the "Igloo". After the shot was prepared, it was then poured through the wall of the "Igloo" and into the mouth of the guests! We lit the "Ice Igloo" with rope lights and an African Warrior was carved into the front of the "Igloo". What a hit!
Overall, this event was "Wildly" Successful!
